Custom Cabinets

Built for your wall, your stuff, your inch.

Custom cabinets, built-ins, garage and laundry storage, and cabinet refacing. Made to fit the odd wall the big-box boxes never will.

Custom Cabinets in Leander, TX

Stock cabinets come in three-inch jumps and your wall doesn't care. When the space is odd (a pantry nook, a laundry wall, a garage that needs real storage, a media built-in), custom is how you use every inch. I build to fit, hang it plumb and solid, and finish it to match.

Not ready for all-new? Refacing keeps your solid boxes and gives you new doors, drawer fronts and hardware for a fraction of a full replacement.

What that includes

  • Custom kitchen and bath cabinetry
  • Media, office and living-room built-ins
  • Garage, laundry and mudroom storage
  • Pantry and closet build-outs
  • Cabinet refacing and new doors/hardware
  • Soft-close hinges and drawer slides

How I go about it

  1. Look at the boxes first

Whether this is a repaint, a reface or a replacement is decided by the carcasses, not the doors. Sound boxes give you options; failed ones do not.

  2. Draw it with you

For built-ins I sketch it out with you first: heights, depths, what goes where. That way we are agreeing on the same thing before material is bought.

  3. Build or fit level and plumb

Floors slope and walls bow. Cabinets get shimmed and scribed to the room so doors sit true and gaps are even.

  4. Fix into framing

Wall cabinets carry real weight. They go into studs, every time, not into drywall anchors.

  5. Hang, adjust, and finish

Doors and drawers adjusted so the gaps are consistent, soft-close hardware set properly, and filler pieces scribed to the wall.

Written quotescope and price, before anything starts

I look at the job, then put the scope and the price in writing before anything starts. What is written down is what I will do and what it will cost, so there is no conversation at the end about what was and was not included. If I find something unexpected behind the wall you hear about it before I carry on, not after.

Common questions

About custom cabinets

Custom or refacing, which should I do?

If your cabinet boxes are solid and you just don't love the look, reface. If the layout doesn't work or the boxes are shot, go custom. I'll tell you which one your kitchen actually needs, not which one costs more.

How long does a custom job take?

Most built-ins are built and installed within a couple of weeks of the measure, depending on finish. I'll give you real dates, not 'a few weeks.'
