Wall Finish Installation & Repair in Leander, TX
An accent wall is easy to do badly. Houses aren't square, floors aren't level, and a panelled wall that ignores both ends up with a wedge of daylight at one end and a batten that misses the corner. I set out the layout first so the spacing lands right at both ends, scribe to the floor and ceiling, and fill and caulk so it reads as part of the house.
Repairs too: damaged panelling, split battens, water-marked wainscot and dated finishes taken off and rebuilt to match what's staying.

How I go about it
- Plan the layout
Board-and-batten, shiplap and brick all live or die on setting out. I work out spacing from the room so you do not end up with an odd sliver in the most visible corner.
- Find the framing
Anything this heavy needs fixing into studs. I map them before a single piece goes up.
- Prepare the wall
The existing surface gets made flat and sound first. A feature wall built over a bad one telegraphs every fault.
- Fit level and consistent
Levelled and spaced with the same gap the whole way, checked as I go rather than at the end when it is too late.
- Caulk, fill and finish
Joints closed, holes filled, and finished so it reads as part of the house rather than something stuck to it.

About wall finishes
Can you match panelling that's already there?
Usually. I'll match the profile and the spacing off the existing run so a repair or an extension reads as original. If the profile is discontinued I'll show you the closest match before I buy anything.
Do you paint it as well?
Your call. I can leave it filled, caulked and ready for your painter, or prime and finish it myself. Tell me which when I quote so it's on the estimate either way.
